Douglas Benner, MD, MS, MRO
Chief Medical Officer

With over 30 years as Coordinator of Occupational Health for Kaiser Permanente, and the founder of Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California’s Kaiser On-the-Job Occupational Health centers and Employee Health Services, Dr. Doug Benner brings a wealth of experience as Expert Exams’ Chief Medical Officer. Named among “The Most Influential People in California Workers’ Compensation” in 2010, Dr. Benner is a diplomat of the American Board of Preventative Medicine in Occupational Medicine and was certified as an independent Medical Examiner and Medical Review Officer.

As a member of the Expert Exams executive team, Dr. Benner works with Expert Exams’ leadership team in the development of the company’s med-legal program. He is also responsible for recruiting and supervising all doctors performing med-legal reviews, and provides oversight of policies and procedures. Dr. Benner graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine, and developed a 39-year distinguished career in the field of medicine.

Andrew Grossman, Esq., CIPP/US, CIPP/E
General Counsel and Growth Strategist

With a robust attorney background, Andrew adeptly advises on transactional and regulatory legal matters at Expert Exams. He also plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and strategic development. He collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities, recruits doctors, handles compliance, enhances operational efficiencies, and implements initiatives that align with the company’s long-term vision. Passionate about the intersection of law and business, he is committed to enable Expert Exams to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.

Andrew earned his JD from UCLA School of Law, and Bachelor’s degree from UCSD where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and won best honors thesis in three years. He will be earning his MBA from the Haas School of Business (UC Berkeley) by Summer 2025.

Thea Jones
Manager of Operations

With almost 10 years with the Expert Exams, Thea is integral to the company. As the Manager of Operations, she effectively manages scheduling, finances, and a variety of other key functions that ensures the company’s daily operations function efficiently. Her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail have been instrumental in optimizing service delivery and operational efficiency. With a thorough comprehension of the complexities of the medical-legal industry, Thea consistently fosters a collaborative environment, supporting clients and her team.
